Kimberly Straight-GagnonDiscovery Counsel
Kimberly Straight-Gagnon specializes in complex eDiscovery litigation and counseling clients on eDiscovery preparedness and process, data retention, and other information governance issues. She has experience assisting clients through counseling, as well as in litigation, across a broad range of subject areas, including pharmaceutical, product liability, class actions, antitrust, entertainment, contract disputes, and patent matters, among many others.
Before joining Bona Law, Ms. Straight-Gagnon practiced law with International law firms Gibson, Dunn and Kaye Scholer/Arnold & Porter. She also spent four years as in -house discovery counsel for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.
As a practicing litigator, Ms. Straight-Gagnon has served as trial counsel and national discovery counsel to some of the world’s largest organizations and celebrity clientele. She has counseled a number of Fortune 500 companies, conducting risk assessments and assisting clients to develop internal information governance policies and controls, and has moved cases from pre-trial to jury trial.
As discovery counsel, Ms. Straight-Gagnon is committed to providing clients with innovative, leading-edge and cost-effective discovery solutions. She combines technical knowledge with her experience as a practicing litigator to develop creative, defensible, and efficient strategies for the preservation, collection, review, and production of electronically stored information and employs litigation tactics to control the scope of discovery, assess discovery from opposing parties, and implement cost-reduction strategies. She works as discovery counsel alongside trial counsel, as a member of the litigation team, to develop and execute all aspects of the client’s discovery strategy as well as optimizing evidence gathering, analysis, and presentation. She brings her knowledge of client documents and data to provide guidance to substantive aspects of each case, and has led discovery teams from several to hundreds of individuals.
